Vienna, Austria (17th September, 2019) The 23rd and 24th of November are already marked red in the calendars of all comic fans, the countdown is on – the 5th VIECC Vienna Comic Con will take place again at the Messe Wien. Brand new mangas, games, movie trailers and of course comics are on site, but visitors can especially look forward to famous movie and comic stars. For the first time, there are also tickets of a special kind for fans – the Ultra VIP tickets are the most exclusive tickets of all categories and are limited to 50 pieces. With them, visitors can enjoy photos, autographs and meet & greets with the stars.
Ready for Steven Seagal?
A special “villain” who will honor the VIECC Vienna Comic Con and has been playing in over 40 films is Steven Seagal. The true action hero will visit Vienna and offer his fans an opportunity to meet him, shake hands and come very close to take photos with him or get autographs. Well-known from blockbusters such as Nico: Above the Law; Marked for Death; Under Siege; and Hard to Kill, he proved his action skills numerous times on screen. But what he can do in the movies, he is able to do in real life as well: Seagal has a black belt in Aikido. So watch out!
International star power
Among others, Sean Astin, who portrays the brave Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Jim Kent in The Strain will be joining this year’s blockbuster event. The iconic female stars are not forgotten – Alex Kingston, who plays the famous doctor Dr. Elisabeth Corday in Emergency Room and stars in Doctor Who and Arrow will also be there.
Known from the horror film IT, based on Stephen King’s novel, in which Jack Dylan Grazer and his friends fought against Pennywise – probably the most famous horror clown of all time – will be on site to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
And that’s not all –stars like Chris Klein known from American Pie or Flash and the titan of the comic universe – Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns, Daredevil, Sin City, 300, Ronin) – have also confirmed their attendance.
The list of comic artists who will honor the VIECC is even longer and includes Jim Balent, Holly Golightly, Mawil and Ulrich Schröder (who brought Disney’s Donald Duck to life) are also attending this awesome event.
The show will further welcome cosplay superstar and influencer Anissa Cosplay, known from NieR: Automata or The Witcher. Her YouTube videos and her streams on Twitch made her one of the most famous influencers in German-speaking countries. Now she comes with her creations to the VIECC Vienna Comic Con to amaze the audience.
Cosplay Central
For the first time, the VIECC Vienna Comic Con offers the entire fascinating world of cosplay in one central location. Visitors will have the opportunity to greet the world’s best cosplayers and see how the famous gaming and comic characters come to life. Meeting places for fans of all genres and from all over the world will make the fair a special experience for everyone. At the cosplay competition – the largest and most lucrative in Central and Eastern Europe – cosplayers are judged in the categories of manual labor, armor and FX. The winner can look forward to more than €7,000 in prize money and travel to the C2E2 show in Chicago with an escort to compete against the other ReedPop Global Championships winners from around the world.
